How fast the year goes when it’s defined by the holidays that have either just passed or the next one that’s never far away. Although we are already halfway through the winter, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it is actually spring with the mild weather we’ve been having. But I know it won’t last!
Perhaps you were fortunate enough to go skiing in the term break and now have ski jackets, pants and other items that you know won’t fit your children next year. Why not list them now on www.schoolxchange.com.au? Some lucky families go skiing in Europe at the end of the year and may well be looking to purchase good quality clothing at discounted prices.

I’ve been feeling guilty about taking so long to post this (my 2nd blog) as I have learnt that regular blogging is a must for any website. I know, procrastination is the thief of time, but can I blame the excessive amount of homework I’ve had to do this term? I’m now an expert on the effects of the economic downturn and Hamlet. Can’t be all bad!
The good news is that we’ve finally passed the half way mark with winter and we’re now counting down to warmer weather. But that doesn’t mean we won’t be needing those warm jumpers and fleecy tops for a while. Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security though. Just when you think it’s warming up, along comes another cold snap making us grab them out of the wardrobe again - it happens every year!

A solution to the growthspurt challenges!
It’s time to organise winter school uniforms for our kids….. I dragged down the suitcase from last year and managed to find my daughters winter tunic - a good start….. However, when she tried it on she rivaled Twiggy with her original mini skirt! This was followed by too tight white blouses and a tie that had done a disappearing act. Taking a deep breath, I turned my attention to my son’s uniform… opps, he has started a new school - last years uniform is irrelevant! Even if that wasn’t the case, he has grown inches since last winter, I’m sure….
So, I’m faced with the usual scenario - time to buy entirely new school uniforms for them both…. but what to do with the old ones? And what about the sports equipment they need for their new passions? Just as well they don’t play a musical instrument or need laptops for school just yet!
Luckily for me, I know there’s another solution. I’ve recently found out about www.schoolxchange.com.au where I know that parents with kids at public and private primary and secondary schools right across Australia are listing good quality second hand school uniforms, sports equipment, textbooks, musical instruments and loads of other gear. I can list my second hand uniforms for sale and search for the things I need for the kids.
What a great idea! It’s free to list an item until the end of April, so I’m going to get moving….. even after April it’s only 10% of the list price of the items I’m selling - a much better option than leaving them in that old suitcase!
In fact, I’m going to tell a whole load of my friends about this site - I think it’s an online marketplace that we can all use.
